This is a little pocketful of strategies and study skills for motivating learners to register, retain, recall and revise with confidence and success.
Tom Barwood aims to illustrate in a simple and practical fashion some of the ways we learn. Just like any skill, learning to learn is something we need to keep practising, as there is no limit to how far this can be taken.
The book is designed to be:
- An introduction for teachers to the field known as ‘learning to learn’.
- A classroom resource to be used by teachers with students.
- A resource to be used by students independently.
- A guide for parents who want to help their children to learn effectively
Most of the book is written with a student audience in mind. For this reason most of the theoretical material ( of more interest to teachers) is in the ‘current thinking’ chapter towards the end of the book. A final sections lists resources and further reading.
