Partners in Education U.K. Ltd. was set up in 1997 by Margaret
Bevan and Valerie Hammond. We are both qualified and experienced teachers in
the classroom and in the field of specific learning difficulties. We have both
worked as Advisory teachers in Special Educational needs for a Local Authority
and have hands on experience of Government policy and practice in this field.
We
provide training for all those involved in education – teachers, teaching assistants,
parents, lecturers, speech therapists, occupational therapists,
physiotherapists and psychologists.
We run
accredited courses from OCR, conferences and non-verified information courses under our own
Company name. We can also tailor a course to a school or college’s specific needs.
We are
both very practical people who love teaching and believe that it is important
to provide, not only the theory, but the practical application of that theory.
Many teachers say ‘I know he’s got problems but I don’t know how to help him –
What do I actually do?’.
We hope
we can answer this type of question for you.
To this
end we have set up a resource base providing an onsite shop where you can
browse around and purchase the latest materials.
We have
also published materials ourselves. These materials have arisen from our own
experience and understanding of the needs of specific
children.
Over the
last fifteen years many changes have occurred in Educational Policy and
Practice and we have found it essential to keep up with these changes in order
to deliver accurate information to the students on our courses.
We also
have access to other professionals who we can call upon to provide specific
areas of expertise e.g. optometrists, psychologists, physiotherapists and
speech therapists and know that we have a large network of support.
Have a
look through our website and see what there is for you. You may wish to attain
a specialist teaching qualification, update your knowledge of assesssment, or just look for
some useful resources. Whatever your needs – we hope we can meet them.
